DIOGENE CULTURAL ASSOCIATION was established in Brussels in 1989 from Zlatina Rousseva, film director and media expert, and Lubomir Georguiev, producer. The main directions of activity of Diogene are film production and organization of cultural events, supporting links between Eastern and Western Europe. Now, after 23 years, the Cultural Centre has successfully worked with major European broadcasters as ARTE, RTBF, TSR, Euronews, etc., and in collaboration with international organizations such as UNDP, Doctors Without Borders, the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, the European Commission and many others. Diogene is the organizer of the International Documentary Film Festival “Millenium” (http://www.festivalmillenium.org), the Millenium Webdoc Meetings (http://www.milleniumwebdoc.org) and the unique of its kind Danube Music Festival (http://www.danubemusicfestival.com), etc. All these years, we tried to film and promote the Bulgarian cultural heritage through performances, exhibitions, concerts and films presented in Belgium as well as in many other countries like France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Austria, Poland, Hungary and Russia.
Some of the most important manifestations are: Participation of Bulgarian musicians in the 10 years anniversary concert of the “Yehudi Menuhin International Foundation”Official opening of the “EU open day – 2008” Concert Philip Simeonov and its composition Supporting events to help the improvement of the work with drug addicted young people in Bulgaria and connection with the Belgian network of therapeutic community.
